Light

The lights dim and the sky grows dark
I am crushed by the silence; by oblivion
Alone, I am weighed down and empty
The wind drags at me, slowing me, whipping my hair
I cry out, but my voice was stolen long ago
Creeping tendrils of fear and doubt seize me
They wrap around me, thorns piercing me, squeezing the life from me

Save My Soul

Continually it seems that I always reach a point of disapointment in myself, who I am, and what I live for.  At one point I commit my life to Christ, setting my hopes and self in him, knowing that he is the true way, the true life, and the true Saviour of the world.  Yet how I keep shutting him out to pursue my own earthly desires, to pursue a life of sin, a life of seperation from God, thinking that it is better, more worth it, throwing God into a dark pit of dirt and burrying him whole.

What do you think of Jesus??

Hey everyone, so this is a small post to simply ask the question, what do you think of Jesus and why?  Be honest, even if it's a harsh answer.

A Piece of Rice

So today while eating lunch, I saw a man sitting down at a table not to far away and noticed that he was wearing one of those necklaces that have a peice of rice with something written on it in a glass case.  After looking at it over a few glances, something came to my mind.

Think how difficult it would be to write something on a tiny delicate peice of rice...

Think of the precision and care that has to be put into making sure the writing is readable...

If not hand written, how much time and money has gone into the equipment to make the writing on the peice of rice readable...

How much focus is put on that peice of rice, something that we don't often think very highly of, but yet the artist wraps his mind around it, putting his time and expertise into the rice necklace...

The Unknown Memory

As I finish the last words I confront this mental haze, this poetic fog, this chaotic mess.

I drift down this forest path. The cloudy windy day barely stirs my senses. This lostness that has consumed my mind blocks all rational thought and feeling.

The trees and decaying matter swell around me, threaten me like that of a memory. I feel the dark terror and understand it yet feel no raw danger.

The Law

'Good and evil have not changed since yesteryear, nor are they one thing among Elves and another among Men. It is a man's part to discern them, as much in the Golden Wood as in his own house,’ Aragorn.
When we think about law, we think about arbitrary rules relegated to us by some foreign and fanciful entity; I do, at least. This is how many people view the law described in the Bible.

Luke 4:31-32 "And he (Jesus) went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. And he was teaching them on the Sabbath, and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word possessed authority."
